2 Corinthians 10:4

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1.What kind of activity does this say we are engaging in as Christians?

2.What defense do we have in this war?

3.What kind of weapons are we to use?

4.What kind of weapons does the world use? What is the difference?

5.Our weapons are not carnal, and are mighty through who's power?

6. What do we pull down with our weapons?

7. What are strongholds? Any area the enemy has invaded and claimed.

8.May we enter any camp of the enemy and pull it down?

2 Corinthians 10:5

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1. Imagination in the Greek means logic and reasoning, why is it important to cast down logic and reasoning as a believer?

2. Logic and reasoning are not faith, and are not kingdom living, how does God say that the just shall live instead? (Galatians 3:11)

3.Satan exalted himself against God and strives to get us to do the same. What are some high things he exalts against the knowledge of God? Might humanism, evolution and false doctrine be some?

4.As believers we can bring every thought under the obedience of Christ, no room here for false idols or doctrines, we can live in perfect freedom, under the Lordship of Christ.

Ephesians 6:10

Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might . Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1.Whom shall we be strong in? And in the power of who's might?

2.What defense has God given to believers?

3.What will this armour allow us to do?

4.Why does God tell us to put on this spiritual armour?

5.Whom are we wrestling against when we join Christ?

6.People may be involved in a battle, but are we wrestling them?

7. What does it mean to be a ruler of any kind?

8.Rulers are in charge of different territories and have dominion. Who does this say is the ruling this world?

9.What do you think this means "high places"? In the Old testament--the "high places" were the place that God should have dwelled--or where the altar to God should have bee. However, very often, the people erected false gods and images of Baal or other gods in these high places.

("high places")--Numbers 22:41--33:52--De 33:29--De 33:29--2Ki 18:4--2Ki 21:3--2Ch 14:3 )

Ephesians 6:13-17

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand,. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparations of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

1.How much of the armour are we to take and put on ?

2.What may we be able to withstand when we do this?

3. What do we do after we have done all we can?

4.What shall we quench with the spiritual weapon of faith?

5. What kind of action does a sword perform?

6.Does a soldier ever go into battle,{especially front lines} without his armour and weapons in place?

2 Timothy 2:3

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; the he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier

1.We are soldiers of whom?

2. What are we to endure as soldiers?

3.Whom are we to please in this battle?

4.What are we to avoid to make us better soldiers?

Luke 16:13

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

1.What are we called to be in Gods kingdom?

2.How has God created us to serve, with singleness of mind and heart or can we divide our focus?

3. When we divide our focus what does God say will happen?

4.God speaks of love of mammon and love of God as two opposing and opposite kingdoms.

Much of the language used in these scriptures refers to us again and again as soldiers, servants who are now enlisted in warfare. Truly we have joined the army of the Lord and are fighting the unseen rulers and powers of this age. We are an advancing army and the bible is our manual to gain the victory every time in Christ.
