I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

2.This refers to the law replacing the work of Christ for our righteousness, which is a perversion of the gospel. Galatians 1:8

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

1.How shall we respond in our hearts if any one comes to us with another gospel,except Christ crucified,that by grace are we saved and made righteous?

2.Even if an angel come to us, let him be accursed.

I do not frustrate the grace of God; for it righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. 1. Does our righteousness come by the law ?

2.How does our righteousness come? By the grace of God.

3.If I take the law as my righteousness, what does that make Christ death on the cross ?

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the spirit by the works of the law , or by the hearing of faith ? Are ye so foolish, having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

1.How do we receive the spirit ? Since it is by faith, shall we not continue on in God in faith, or shall we go back to the law?

2.Do we receive the spirit of God by the law? No, so why do we go back to the law as though it has any power to save us, or make us righteous?

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident; for, the just shall live by faith.

2. In whose sight is not one justified ?

3.How then shall we live?

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. 1.What curse were we under?

2. Who redeemed us from that curse?

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster, for ye are all children of God, by faith in Christ Jesus.

1.The law is the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, but we have been redeemed from that.

2, Now what may we call ourselves, ?

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hat sent for the spirit of his son into your hearts, crying ABBA FATHER.

1. From what must we be redeemed in order to receive the adoption as sons?

2. What has God put in our hearts, now that we are sons?

3. Will God hold the letter of the law against someone who is truly his son or daughter?

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

1. Fallen from grace is not referring here to sin, as we normally think, what is it referring to here.?

2. When the law justifies us, Christ is become of no effect.

This book of Galatians is written by Paul to a group of Christians who have strayed from grace and accepted another gospel, which was the law. They permitted false teachers who perverted the gospel, they were bewitched and soon removed from the grace only found in Christ. They were crucifying Christ anew, by in essence saying that His sacrifice on the cross was not good enough, and attributed their blessing to the law of Moses.

They had begun in the spirit, but then sought perfection in their flesh.They lost the true benefits of the gospel by this, and suffered for it. They went back to the law of works to be justified,turning back to the weak and beggarly elements of the world, when all along the work on the cross had provided a much better way, a way to live above the world. They went back to observe sabbaths and other festivals of the law, which brought them into bondage of that system. They considered Paul an enemy for telling them the truth, they were in need of the rebirth , again. The other gospel, which was the law held, no power in Gods eyes to justify, it could bring only a curse to those who chose to love it and live under its power. This other gospel of works cannot give an inheritance, is not faith, was added only to make sin sinful and show and expose sin,it was given only until Christ, the new covenant would come. So now all could enter , not just the Levitecal priests into the holy of holies. The law can never bring life, it can never give the new birth and change the inner man, the nature of man, and the iniquity that compels us to sin. The old covenant only makes servants, and not sons, who are heirs to the kingdom, and can cry abba father, and receive only the benefits that a son can from a father. In light of all this, it seems we have been given a much better way, than to fall back into bondage of the law. To understand who we are in Christ now, sons not servants, is a much higher calling, and way to live, and experience God.
