Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, , because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
1. Don't be afraid of those who prospering in the world, according to their own power and devices, apart from God, they will not have a good end. We prosper as Christians by seeking first the kingdom, His ways of doing things. Then he leads us to establishing His covenant, and ministry.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
1.Christians have the answer, and can lead many souls out of the fire.
2.But the riches of the wicked hold no spiritual power to help anyone.
Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.
1. Are you his servant, and serving the Lord? He will then have pleasure in prospering you.
The word ministry means service. We are called to serve, ministry is a verb, not a noun.
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
1.What is the purpose of wealth in the hands of Christians?
2. To establish his covenant.
3. To do that means we spread the gospel; and bring others to a saving knowledge of Christ, this is the heart of God the Father.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Keeping yourself poor to be holy in the sight of God came from the midievil days. There were a few land owners who had all the money and land, and wanted to keep it that way , so they drove it into the peasants minds that to be poor was Gods will, and they would be holy this way. This may have some persuasion, to our flesh at times, but it is totally unbiblical as we have seen in this study. Gods plan for His children does not include struggling in the world just to have our needs met. That would leave us with no energy or time to seek His kingdom and establish His covenant in the earth. Instead the bible clearly says to seek first His kingdom. This means repentance, and then seeking to do things His way in every area of our lives. Then He has promised to meet our needs and give us the desires of our heart as we delight in Him. Without the spiritual foundation in Him, physical prosperity will do us no good, and can even destroy us. The enemy is sure to be defeated in big ways, as we obey and seek first the kingdom of God. As we claim every promise, He will not fail us. If this sounds too good to be true, it is only because we are unaccustomed to doing things His way. But try Him and see that He is good.
