Ephesians 4:22
That ye put off concerning the former conversation [lifestyle of sin] the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the NEW MAN, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

James 3:9
Therewith we bless God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made AFTER THE SIMILITUDE OF GOD.

Genesis 1:26
And God said; LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, AFTER OUR LIKENESS....

Genesis 5:1
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD MADE HE HIM.

Genesis 9:6
Whoso sheddeth mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed; FOR IN THE IMAGE OF GOD MADE HE MAN.

We see in these scriptures that we are made in the image of God. In the same way, our new spirit is created AFTER God, in true holiness. God has made our born again spirit holy, created like Himself, righteous and holy.
He has made us in his image, and has destined us to be like Him, from Adam, but now we are even closer , even more like Him, after we are born again.
++++++++++++++++++++++OLD MAN

These scriptures describes our old man, that was fallen, and did not walk after God. But our old man walked after self, and lust, and we were children of wrath, we could not please God in this state. Our spirit was not yet made holy and righteous after the likeness of God yet, we were not born from above yet.

Ephesians 2:2
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience;
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and we by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Titus 3:3
For we ourselves also were sometimes disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

Now lets look at the new man more closely. What did The father have to do in order to make this new man ?
He broke down the middle wall, that thing that came between God and man, even the law of commandments, contained in ordinances and rules, and made instead, a new breed, who would obey God from His heart. He reconciled us to God by the cross, and slain the enmity, or the difference between God and man. It is gone forever.

Ephesians 2:14
For He is our peace, who hath made one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one NEW MAN, so making peace;
And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.

Now the rules do not matter, they availath nothing, but a new creature has been created , when our old nature gets born again, after God, not after the fallen Adam.

Galatians 6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircimcision, but a NEW CREATURE.

Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
1. Now that we are redeemed and purified we can be zealous, fervent in good works unto God.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE ; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
1, We are new creatures, the old man is no more, and every part of us has become new. Mind and spirit.,thinking and the way we live. Prosperity , all curses are broken that the old man was under, is this good news or what?

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the NEW MAN, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him.
1. What does it mean that we are renewed in knowledge ? And then after the image?
This means that now we are born again of Gods wisdom after or like God himself. Our spirit is alive to Christ and resembles closely God himself. Holy and righteous and in that image. We can now see things as He sees them and walk after righteousness. We had no way to do that before our new birth.

Ephesians 2:15

Ephesians 4:24
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And ye put on the NEW MAN, which after God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.

1Thess 5:5
Ye are all children of light, and children of the day; we are not of the night, nor of the darkness.
1.Darkness in the Greek means ignorance. Now we are no longer ignorant of God and His ways, we walk in the light, in greater understanding of Him.

Lets see what God has to say about the New man, the one who has been born again by the spirit of God.

Ephesians 4:24
And ye put on the new man, which is created after God in true righteousness and holiness.
It is after God, created in true righteousness and holiness.
Our born again spirit is after God, that means it is like Him, it is of like kind, created after His image and character. It is created in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 4:22
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Our old man was corrupt according to the deceitful lust, but we renew our mind now, and put on the new man. God has done His part, and recreated our spirit, now we do ours, and throw off the old man, and his ways, and be renewed in the spirit of our mind. This implies that our thinking should change right along with our spirits. We now walk in a new spirit, but our thoughts must now follow after God for us to have the total victory. We are renewed in the spirit of our mind as we read and absorb the word of God by faith, and take it for our life. Each promise is ours, let it wash us every day, and renew us. We change our minds from the worlds way of thinking, to His way of thinking. There is a vast difference.

God has given us a wonderful gift. The moment we are born again, we can now live for him. He radically and quickly regenerates our old fallen nature and makes us alive with a new spirit man, after His image. We are now created in true holiness and righteousness, just like our Father.
We need to believe that we are holy and from that moment on we can live as children of God. God has called us holy, and with a purpose now in His mind, that we should not only live for Him, but tell others about Him. All things are new including our purpose and reason for living.

Now the word also says we are righteous, lets look into that.
Romans 5:17
For if by one mans offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
1. By Adams offense, death reigned over all mankind, but now, we receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness by Jesus Christ.
He has given us the gift of righteousness, in place of death and sin given from Adam.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Philippians 3:9
And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.

1Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

James 5:16
Confess your faults to one another, and pray one for another , that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.
