We can see in old testament times that Gods glory filled the temple made by man hands. We can see it was famous and exceeding magnificent in splendor and glorious.

Exodus 40:34
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the Glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

1 Chronicles 22:5
And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnificent, and of fame and of glory throughout all countries; I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

We can see that God has chosen us, His church before the foundation of the world . He had us in mind to represent Him before the world began. We are now His house, His living temple, not made of mans hands, but filled with His glory inside of us.

Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

Hebrews 3:6
But as Christ was a son over his own house; whose house are we,if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
We can see that we are the temple of God now, and that He expects us to be free and clean from idols, then He will dwell with us and walk with us. Like Adam before the fall, he was crowned with Gods glory, and had no sin, and God walked with him.

2 Corinthians 6:16
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

1Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Corinthians 6:19
What !! Know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.

Ephesians 2;21
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord.

Ephesians 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the household of God.

Ephesians 2:22
In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the spirit.

We can see we are now citizens of heaven, not strangers, but fellow citizens with saints in heaven. Together on earth, we are builded together for God to habitate us and represent Him while we are here.
This temple too, us, is to be exceeding magnificent and splendid and famous so that all the countries and nations may witness it . They can see the glory of God in us, and come to know Him.
