“I’m so glad to hear that you know and believe what the Bible says to be true! There is so much confusion out there as to what is true, what with all the religions out there.”

You agree. “It’s true; it really shows that the Devil is hard at work to deceive people.”

“That’s for sure,” he replies. “It’s important for us believers to know the Bible well and even to get to know what other religions say, just like the apostle Peter tells us: ‘Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, yet do this with gentleness and respect.1’”

“That’s some good advice he gives us.”

“Yes, we really need to get the word out any way we can, and with God, His word, and all the apologetic resources out there to help us learn how to defend our faith, we really have no excuse not to when you think about it.”

You reflect on what he has said for quite a while as the two of you sit in silence. An hour or so later, the flight ends, and as you get off the plane you say goodbye to the young man, encouraged by his boldness and his words.i
